WW2 USA USAAF Spitfire V Luftwaffe Haunebu,

12x10 inch canvas board.

Painted by me, Richard Hubbard.

You can find my art in UK USA and worldwide.

This painting blends historical elements (the Spitfire, USAAF, Luftwaffe) with science fiction (the Haunebu), creating a fantastical narrative where Allied forces confront a technologically advanced Nazi weapon. It reflects a popular trope in alternate history and speculative fiction, where Nazi Germany develops UFO-like technology, often tied to conspiracy theories about secret projects like Die Glocke or the Haunebu program. The artwork captures the intensity of WW2 aerial warfare while introducing a surreal, "what-if" scenario.
During World War II, American pilots did indeed fly Spitfires, primarily with the Royal Air Force (RAF) before the US entered the war, and later with the United States Army Air Forces (USAAF). American volunteers formed the "Eagle Squadrons" and flew Spitfires alongside the RAF during the Battle of Britain. After the US entered the war, the Spitfire was also used by the USAAF for reconnaissance and later as a fighter aircraft.
