Ember Gate
Ember Gate
Long ago, at the edge of the known world where the sky bent and the land cracked open into shadow, there stood the Ember Gate—a portal of molten light forged in the fires of forgotten gods. Few dared to venture near, for it was said that the gate only opened for those who carried the weight of lost worlds in their hearts.
Three ancient sentinels, cloaked in bark-red stone and etched with black veins of withering life, stood vigil beside the portal. These were once beings of flesh and spirit, chosen to guard the passage to realms unseen. Over eons, their forms fused with the land, becoming pillars of warning—and hope.
On the eve of the crimson solstice, the sky shimmered with golden embers, and the air cracked with the scent of scorched time. From the forest of stars beyond, orbs of memory began to pulse into being, lighting the path for a traveler long awaited. The shadow of a figure moved across the icy plain, drawn not by destiny but by a longing older than memory.
As they approached, the sentinels wept golden tears that streamed into the portal’s flame, and the symbols on their bodies flared alive, whispering the story of a world forgotten and a soul reborn. The gate opened—not with sound, but with silence, deep and endless.
And so, the traveler stepped through, becoming both key and keeper of the Ember Gate. The sentinels returned to stillness, and the world, once again, waited.
